On 6 December 1906 the English Cricket Team arrived in Wellington, New Zealand aboard the liner Corinthic.

A member of the visiting English team was New Zealand-born Peter Randall Johnson. However, Johnson was not aboard the Corinthic with his fellow team members. Johnson and his wife had traveled separately to the team and arrived in Sydney aboard the RMS Omrah on the morning of  Saturday 1 December 1906. The couple had then boarded the Wimmera the same day and sailed for Wellington that afternoon at 2.30pm. They arrived in Wellington prior to the Corinthic, on the morning of Wednesday 5 December.
